E for Editing Process
One of the most common questions I receive after a session is: “What happens next?” The answer lies in a quiet, thoughtful part of the photography journey – the editing process.
Editing is where your images are gently polished, not transformed. It’s not about filters or dramatic changes. It’s about consistency, tone, and emotional clarity. My goal is always the same: to preserve the natural beauty of the moment while refining the images so that they reflect the calm, elegant aesthetic that defines my work.
Once your session is complete, I carefully select the very best photographs. I look for moments of connection, emotion, and subtle beauty. This curation phase ensures your final gallery is cohesive and meaningful – not overwhelming with repetition.
Then begins the editing itself: soft adjustments to light and tone, colour balance, and cropping where needed. I don’t retouch you to look like someone else. I enhance what’s already there – the softness of natural light on skin, the warmth of a hug, the way your child leans into you without even thinking.
My editing style is soft, neutral, and timeless. I avoid heavy contrasts or trendy presets, opting instead for subtlety. Skin tones are kept natural. Colours remain true but gently balanced. The aim is always to create images that feel like memories – honest, elegant, and quietly moving.
Whether your session was held in studio, outdoors, or at home, I adjust each gallery to reflect the light and mood of that setting. No two families are the same – and no two galleries are, either.
Once editing is complete, I prepare your full gallery for online delivery. You’ll receive a private link where you can view, download, and choose your favourite images. For families who have booked albums or prints, I’ll guide you through the next steps, helping you select the right formats and finishes.
Turnaround time is typically 2–3 weeks – but know that behind the scenes, every image is treated with intention and care.
